What's planned
The data expansion overview groups 19 specs into four waves, so each can be picked up on its own:
- Wave 1: data we already download. Admission factors (whether GPA is used, legacy status, essays), admissions by sex and true medians, housing and policies, the student body, and loans and repayment.
- Wave 2: one new federal file each. Campus profile, services and athletics, student-faculty ratio, where students come from, 8-year outcomes, graduation by Pell status and race, finances, and faculty.
- Wave 3: majors and earnings by major.
- Wave 4: figures only colleges publish. High school GPA, class sizes, transfer admissions, next year's price, and graduates' total debt. These wait on the tool that reads colleges' own reports.
Each spec covers the source, ingest, storage, display, whether to keep history, and where its trend belongs.
Recommendations
- Add Graduation as a fifth trend indicator.
- The strongest new Home fact: legacy preference is fading. Between fall 2022 and fall 2024, 89 colleges stopped considering it and 18 started.
All of these are on the roadmap.
