What's planned
LGBTQ+ life joins religious life and Greek life under Campus life on the roadmap.
What the research found
- Federal counts exist but are sparse. Since 2022–23, colleges can report students of "another gender". Across the site's 1,893 colleges, 206 report at least one student, 252 report 0, and 76% leave it blank. Nothing counts sexual orientation.
- The standard rating is gone. The Campus Pride Index is effectively offline. Its lists of trans-inclusive policies live on in the Trans Policy Clearinghouse.
- Support changes fast. Some campus centers have closed under new state laws, such as UT Austin's in 2024.
Design choices
- No score, stars, or rank. Each fact stands alone with its source and "as of" date.
- Policies are checked on each college's own pages. Directory listings are leads to verify, not facts to publish.
- Conduct-code rules are quoted in the college's own words and reviewed by a person before publishing.
- Gender counts are never ranked or filtered, and blank ("not collected") is kept distinct from 0.
- Public colleges get a line on relevant state law, citing the statute.
