What's planned
The roadmap gains four themes beyond college data:
- Accounts and households. Sign in with email or Google and keep your lists and numbers. A parent can see each child's list and planning; a child never sees the parent's income or assets. Accounts are for ages 13 and up. (accounts, student profile, saved lists)
- Planning tools. Where your numbers stand at each college, with the reasons and never a made-up percentage; what your family would likely pay, as a range over four years; real aid offers side by side in one standard layout; and whether applying early helps. (chances and fit, net price estimator, award letter analyzer, early decision)
- High school context. A page for every public high school and, where a counselor shares them, past applicants from your school drawn over each college's ranges. (high school data, scattergrams)
- Platform, measurement, and business. Usage measurement without cookies and without recording anyone's numbers; Free, Plus, and Pro tiers that keep every public number free; accounts for counselors; and a developer API. (telemetry, commercialization, counselor portal, data API)
A product overview explains how the themes fit together, the build order, and the rules for handling user data.
Behind the scenes
The specs grew out of three idea documents (kept in specs/product/ideas/) and research into the 2026–27 federal
aid formula, the College Financing Plan and state award-letter laws, Scoir and Naviance exports, federal high
school datasets, analytics tools, and privacy law for minors. Nothing is built yet.
