Campus life: facts from 12 more colleges' own pages

Campus life now shows facts checked on 24 colleges' own pages, up from 12, including Greek councils, LGBTQ+ centers, and policies at Ohio State, Georgia, Duke, UNC, and others.

What's new

  • Profile → Campus life: 12 more colleges, including Ohio State, Georgia, Penn State, UNC, Duke, Wake Forest, and SMU, now show facts read from their own pages: their fraternity and sorority councils and chapter counts, whether they have an LGBTQ+ center (and when one closed), and policies such as nondiscrimination and chosen names on records. Each fact links to the page it came from and the date we checked it.
  • Greek life: a council whose chapters aren't on the national lists we read now says so, instead of looking empty.

Behind the scenes

  • This was the second test run of reading colleges' own pages with AI models, on 25 new colleges, at half the cost per college of the first. We checked its answers against facts gathered by hand.
  • We show only kinds of facts that were right about 95% of the time. Faith offices and community size estimates slipped below that bar this round, so they're hidden until a better run; fraternity membership, housing, and recruitment timing were right but there still aren't enough of them to be sure.
