What's new
- Most popular majors. Each college's profile lists its top majors by share of bachelor's degrees, with a search box to find any program ("Do they have nursing?") and the full list one click away.
- Fastest-growing field. The profile names the field of study whose share of graduates grew the most over ten years.
- What graduates earn, by major. "Top-earning majors here" shows median earnings one and four years after graduating, next to the national median for the same major. Majors with too few graduates to report say so.
- Compare by your major. On Compare, pick a field of study (computer science, biology, business…) and the section updates in place to show, for each college, how many students graduate in it, its share of graduates and how that changed over ten years, what graduates earn, their debt, and the programs offered.
- Explore by field. Filter and sort colleges by field of study and by bachelor's degrees awarded.
- What students study is shifting. A new fact on the home page: computer science's share of bachelor's degrees has more than doubled in ten years.
Behind the scenes
- Majors come from the IPEDS Completions survey, with history back ten years for each broad field. Earnings by major come from the College Scorecard's Field of Study data, which is measured from graduation, unlike the site's college-wide earnings, which are measured from entry.
- A new reference table of program codes (CIP 2020) gives every major a readable name and links majors to their earnings.
- Fixed a column in the Explore table that was out of line with its heading.
